Playa Escondida

South of Playa Rosada lies Playa Escondida---one of Rancho Santana's most secluded beaches. This beach is accessible via an easy walk down a short forest trail, but it's often deserted.

Playa Escondida is truly a beach bum's paradise: a long stretch of uninterrupted sand that's practically cut off from the rest of the world. Here, you can unwind under the shade of the trees, surrounded by nothing but surf, sand and sun. You'll feel your stress evaporate as you're lulled by the sound of the waves, and the warmth of the sun envelopes you.

The nearby reef also makes Playa Escondida a favorite spot for snorkeling. Imagine floating in the warm Pacific waters amidst a riot of multi-colored fish. No aquarium could ever match the variety and beauty you'll find here.

Playa Escondida's unusually soft sand makes it an ideal swimming beach. It's a favorite surf-casting spot for some of Rancho Santana's anglers, too. But don't worry about privacy. It's not uncommon to have Playa Escondida all to yourself.
